The Reality of Democrats Open Border Stance

Recent headlines show the Democrat Presidential hopefuls are all in for illegal immigration. This can be annoying for many of us that have followed the party through the years and know that they were not always on the side of open borders.

In 1994, 32 percent of Democrats said immigrants strengthen the country because of their hard work and talents. Today, 83 percent of Democrats feel that way, according to polling from the Pew Research Center.

During that same time frame, the percentage of Democrats who said immigrants are a burden on the country because they take jobs, housing and healthcare declined by about 50 percent.

Here’s a paragraph from the 1996 Democrat Party platform:

Today’s Democratic Party also believes we must remain a nation of laws.  We cannot tolerate illegal immigration and we must stop it. For years before Bill Clinton became President, Washington talked tough but failed to act. In 1992, our borders might as well not have existed. The border was under-patrolled, and what patrols there were, were under-equipped. Drugs flowed freely. Illegal immigration was rampant. Criminal immigrants, deported after committing crimes in America, returned the very next day to commit crimes again.

But it goes back further than that. In 1975 following the Vietnam War, Democrats rallied to prevent refugees from entering the United States.

Led by Moonbeam Jerry Brown, who attempted to stop planes with Vietnam refugees from landing in California, many high profile Democrats opposed all immigration and refugees from Vietnam, including orphans.

They were referred to as the “Boat People”, and the Democrat list included Delaware’s Democratic Sen. Joe Biden, New York’s Elizabeth Holtzman, and Peace candidate Sen. George McGovern, who said he thought 90 percent of the Vietnamese arrivals “would be better off going back to their own land,”

Follow the Money

This all goes back to the numbers. Democrats have been pushing for the urban cities to grow, both in technology and population. They have succeeded on the technology side, as the richest 25 metro areas now account for more than half of the U.S. economy, according to an Axios analysis of government data. Rich cities particularly specialize in the new tech economy: Just five counties account for about half of the nation’s internet and web-portal jobs.

However, the childbirth rate has dropped dramatically in the cities. This could be due to the raising awareness of the anti-abortion movement or to millennials choosing not to have children.

The fact is, the population has declined in the urban areas. The democrat millennials are choosing not to have children.

All in for Socialism

The most obvious reason for the flip to pro-illegal immigration is the party’s promotion of Socialism.

The new faces of the Democrat Party are those of “The Squad”, consisting of US Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

They have attempted to rally the Party into full Socialism, beginning with abolishing the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and the federal Department of Homeland Security, decriminalizing illegal border crossings and providing free health care for illegal immigrants, as well as their promotion of the “Green New Deal”.

They have spewed forth the talking points that the conditions on the border are inhumane, yet conveniently neglect to mention that many of the current immigration policies that are receiving criticism under Trump were in place during the previous administration.

In the often mentioned speech promising they would be “fundamentally transforming the United States of America,” it was not specific on their actual goals to accomplish this, however, it has been systematically morphed to mean Socialism, on the smaller scale, and ultimately Communism, on the larger scale.

It is fairly easy to understand. Follow the numbers, and follow the money.

Socialism, and social justice programs, are not “Free”, they are paid for by taxpayers. All the “Freebies” that the Democrat hopefuls are spouting actually require money. That was the framework for Obamacare. For the Affordable Care Act to work, it would require all of the healthy young people in this country to get on board to pay for those that could not afford their healthcare.

The Democrat Party, however, did not consider the fact that, though they can get people to feel sorry for the less-fortunate, they cannot get them to hand over their own hard-earned dollars to fund them.

Without the young, healthy population to pay for their programs, Socialism dies. They would have to find another way to pay for the handouts, and there is no other way. They need the influx of young workers from other countries to sustain their Socialist promises.

If the population declines, the money goes away, and Socialism (think government elite) cannot be implemented. They have already promoted abortion as a leading Socialist “right”, however, people are waking up to the fact that this is actually killing real babies. Refusing to get pregnant is the next logical step.

So, first we have the decline in population and, therefore, in the payment of the “Freebie” programs. The next step is the decline in support of Socialism.

President Trump recognizes this logical progression. He has repeatedly said that this country will never be a Socialist country. He is not just trying to secure our borders from illegal aliens and criminals, he is also trying to secure our country from Socialism, and, in the end, Communism.
