Can Reynolds Become the Next Constitutional Sheriff?
Many of our readers have heard about Printz v United States. Years ago in that case, Montana Sheriff Jay Printz and Sheriff Richard Mack were told that the federal government has the authority to invoke the Brady Law on the people. Because the Constitution provides for the rights of the people to be reserved to the states and/or the people, this case went to court. The United States Supreme Court ruled against the federal government.
Across America we have seen multiple jurisdictions where the sheriff has exercised his duty and stood up for the rights of the people.
Sheriff David Clarke from Wisconsin made headlines by having the courage again to stand up against a system that was not upholding the Constitution or the rights of the people.
In Maricopa County, Sheriff Joe Arpaio not only stood up for the people but stood strong against government overreach in Arizona. Sheriff Joe’s re-election campaign message continues to resonate with the people,
“We cannot sit idly by while Maricopa County faces unprecedented challenges. I know this isn’t going to be easy, but I can’t in good conscience sit back in retirement knowing that my grandchildren will inherit a county worse off than I’ve spent my entire life defending. I pray to have your continued support today of my campaign.”
Several years ago Redoubt News was on the front lines covering a preparedness rally in Idaho. At that rally, many citizens gathered with “Oath Keepers” and many other organizations to look closely at preparedness here in America. At that rally, a strong message was delivered that clearly stated that protecting the rights of the people rests with the local sheriff.
Here we are in 2020 and we are seeing a shift in political courage across America, as well as the will to stand united. As a result of the preparedness rally, Cope Reynolds and his wife, from Apache County Arizona, spent the next several years following the actions of government. Like many citizens, their common questions included, “What can I do?”
The incumbent sheriff in Apache County is being challenged on several fronts. Reynolds believes that the office of the sheriff is an essential part of the community. He states that it is his duty to make sure that he is available to the citizens to meet them and hear their concerns.
Reynolds explains that his foundation is based on the principles of individual liberty. The marginalization of religious freedom is something that he is not happy with, as well as the manipulation of the 2nd Amendment rights. The right to keep and bear arms is paramount to the job of sheriff, according to Mr. Reynolds.
With the future of America in the cross-hairs of the 2020 election cycle, Reynolds hopes to take an aggressive approach to defending the Constitution and the rights of the people in his county.
