PROWLER ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE BURGLARIES

Rathdrum, ID-On April 23rd, 2016 at approximately 10:45 P.M, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area of E. Chilco Rd. near N. Ramsey Rd. for a report of a prowler.

A homeowner called in stating they could hear someone in their garage making noises. The homeowner also stated it appeared several of their vehicles had been entered into.

Deputies responded to the address and discovered the garage and vehicles had been entered. Deputies located fresh foot prints in the mud and began a K-9 track for the suspect. After a lengthy K-9 track, deputies located Dustin J. King, 21 of Priest River, ID, walking down N. Ramsey Rd. near W. Garwood Rd.

Deputies observed King’s shoes matched the foot prints in the mud outside the garage. Deputies also discovered stolen items that had been located in the victim’s cars. A stolen driver’s license from an auto theft in Post Falls was also located in King’s possession.

King had been the suspect in multiple burglaries recently and has previous arrests for burglaries.

King was arrested for 4 counts of burglary, possession of stolen property, and petit theft.
