I Take No Pride In Sin

I Take No Pride In Sin

by Pastor Paul D. Van Noy

Inasmuch as I rarely pipe in on much of what is occurring in our local community—and around the world, I, on occasion, feel the need to put in my two bits on local happenings.

A few of the many examples include the hideous nature of the largely false narrative of the BLM movement, critical race theory (which has only incited a greater racial divide), the recent ramblings of a plethora of misleading and manipulated informational pieces related to the Covid-19 “vaccinations”—and their so-called safe application (even here locally many have suffered adverse reactions), and now for the final blow to my recent silence: June once again being the month many around the country and world celebrate the deviant lifestyle of the LGBTQ community—with the inclusion of a continual assault on Biblical truth and the very words of Jesus. (Recent “conversations” suggest that Jesus said nothing concerning homosexuality only to display the “communicator’s” lack of Biblical knowledge.)

What tipped me in the direction of writing today? Well, to begin with, the fact that we remembered the fallen who gave their lives for the defense of truth, life, and liberty (for no more than a single day)—Memorial Day—only to be followed by “Pride Month” is a disgrace. Moreover, the fact that the Coeur d’Alene Press just yesterday posted an article praising the number of events and “celebrations” giving focus to the push for a Biblically condemned lifestyle that harms not only those who practice the behaviors condemned in nature and by nature’s God, but also those who ignorantly embrace and support what has and continues to bring harm to many. And now, to add great insult to God and the Church, they promote an event suggesting that homosexuality is a message of life, love, and unity. (I need not say that one must redefine the word love to embrace such error.)

Events include “Tie-dye” parties (the “movement” has already chosen to attempt a hijack of the rainbow—a sign that God will not judge the whole world again through a global flood—a judgment that warned the whole world that a greater judgment is yet to come), a “Sanctuary of Self Love,” “Pride on the Runway” which features drag displays (when will we notice there is a man on the platform wearing a dress?), and worst of all discussions about “inclusion in the church,” wherein the “LQBTQ+” “community” is thought to be acting in “kindness” by working to infiltrate the church by pushing for acceptance (without repentance) among the repentant believers who have recognized their sin and live for service to the Lord—in contrast to the “Self Love” they promote.

Kindness and love demand that we mark those things that harm others and refrain from supporting those things that destroy. (Are you angry yet?)

I must say, I am not “homophobic,” but I do hate those things the Bible condemns—so does the Lord! In the Scriptures we read, “If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them” (Leviticus 20:13 NKJV). Should I remind all of you that Jesus endorsed these words when He said, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill” (Matthew 5:17 NKJV)?

Why this rant? Because I do love our community and those who live here! I care deeply about those who struggle with the various sins against humanity that have caused untold and unmentionable harm to the planet and its inhabitants. I take no pride in sin nor do I take pride in writing this note. I grieve!

Please join me in a return to truth, life, love, and a genuine unity with the One who made us. He is the Creator, and we answer to Him. Even those who deny His existence will one day answer, for every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God the Father (see Isaiah 45:23, Romans 14:11).
