Abolish Abortion

On January 22nd, 1973 the Supreme Court of the United States of America made an exception to murder. They declared, on that cold winter day, that certain human beings had no constitutionally guaranteed rights, that they could be murdered on the whim of the person who “owned” them. The High Court decided that the right to privacy of one person was more relevant than another person’s right to life. Babies in the womb were then and are now considered to be unworthy of human rights. Unborn babies are the sole property of their mothers and they will live or die only at her whim.
In the forty-four years since this exception to murder was declared, nearly 60 million babies have been murdered at the hands of abortionists with the consent of their mothers. For forty-four years pro-life activists have sought to limit abortions in every way they thought they could. Prolife activists have worked on and passed legislation that put 20-week limits (with exceptions) on abortion, they have created crisis pregnancy centers to help women choose life, they protest abortion clinics and they pray, pray, and pray some more. Prolife advocates have slowly created a culture of life that rejects abortion. Abortions on the whole are the lowest they have ever been since Roe, and abortion activists place the blame squarely on the shoulders of the prolife movement.
The great successes of the prolife movement are still not enough. Babies are still being legally murdered at the rate of nearly million per year. Now, the time has come for us to realize that limiting abortion is not enough. We can no longer compromise with evil. The day has come for the people of the State of Idaho to defy Roe v. Wade and make abortion first degree murder.
Abolish Abortion Idaho is a petition declaring that life begins at conception, it prohibits abortion and makes its performance and procurement first degree murder.
The Language of the Petition:
“The ‘unborn human being’ shall mean the offspring of human beings from the moment of conception until either live birth or death, including the human conceptus, zygote, morula, blastocyst, embryo and fetus, whether conceived and/or located inside or outside the body of a human female; ‘Conception’ means the fertilization of the ovum of a female individual by the sperm of a male individual; ‘Abortion’ means the use or prescription of any instrument, medicine, drug, or any other substance or device to intentionally kill an unborn human being; It shall be unlawful for any person to perform, procure, or attempt to perform an abortion. Any person who performs or procures an abortion shall be guilty of murder of the first degree”
It should be noted that this petition is not about punishing mothers in difficult situations but instead it is about helping them make the only decision that is correct. We have to make abortion first degree murder to protect women from being pressured to murder their children. The majority of women who have had abortions would never have had one if they were not pressured and bullied by husbands, boyfriends, mothers, fathers, doctors, clergy, teachers, and friends to kill their babies. Women deserve better than abortion, they need to be protected and their babies need to be protected as well. This bill will protect the mother and the child. If abortion is outlawed women will be safe and encouraged to have their babies in an environment without fear of violence against them, the threat of losing their livelihood or their home for keeping their baby.

Thanks Shari : Seen as a State’s nullification of SCOTUS authority and as an assertion of 10A, this law would set a very healthy example.We have to stop looking to the Fed as the arbiter and overlord ! As a flat prohibition of abortion however, we might consult how other prohibitions have worked out. Vanderbeoghs “Ruthless and inescapable law of unintended consequences” will definitely come into play if no ameliorating circumstance is considered. What about a rape-caused pregnancy ? What about the unplanned and unwanted child of of a mother who will see her baby as a burden rather than a blessing ? If this law is not accompanied by further legislation that gives strong support for adoption, and does provide for some adjudicated exceptions, much grief will result.
Hi Neil. When we do legislation, it can only contain one topic. In this case, the golden thread is abortion. Making adoption laws easier and cheaper should be done, and it will have to be a bill introduced at the legislature or another ballot initiative that covers that subject.
Abortion is murder. Aborting a rape conceived baby is…murder. Murder is always murder and will always be a felony under our new legislation. Rape conceived babies are not guilty of the crimes of their rapist father and should not be killed.
There can be no exceptions to murder. Equal protection under the law is demanded. Abortion exceptions keep a bus sized door open to legal abortion on demand.
