Preparedness
A bug-out bag or BOB is a portable kit that normally contains the items one would require to survive for 72 hours when evacuating from a disaster.
No one will carry your bag out bag but you. Remember, men and women have different needs.
A Good Bug Out Bag can be put together for under $100 in many cases

You can buy pre-packed bug out bags, or you can put together your own.
1. Water
You should carry at least 3 liters. For expansion of you resources, you will need a water purification system, such as:
LifeStraw Personal Filter: portable straw filter to be used anywhere. Recommended!
Platypus Platy Collapsible Water Bottle: can be used for extra storage
2. Food
3 days is recommended for a basic pack
3. Shelter
Some type of tent or tarp and a bedroll, at minimum. You can include a ground tarp, or other items if you are able to carry them.
4. First Aid
You can buy a pre-filled kit, or build your own. Include, at minimum, pain killers, bandages, gauze, tape, surgical spirit, hydrogen peroxide, a pair of scissor and also any medications that you need to take regularly.
5. Clothing
Clothes should be similar to what you would pack for a weekend backpacking trip
6. Fire
At least 3 different ways to make fire
7. Information
Identifying assets that you hold. This could also include identification.
8. Money
A few coins would be good, but they get heavy. Bills are better, and be sure to keep them in a waterproof bag.
Include a toilet paper roll, hand sanitizer, soap and mouthwash. Women should pack tampons and/or sanitary napkins too.
10. Cooking utensils
A small container that can hold a liter of water will do, plus eating utensils.
11. Communication and Navigation
A hand held radio and a compass is bare minimum.
12. Self-Defense
Handgun, with ammunition, pepper spray, knife or slingshot in pinch
