Macomber Completes Walking Campaign – ALL District 4A

"I know I’ve visited over 1000 homes.”

Art Macomber Completes Walking Campaign
of all 24 Precincts for District 4A

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – May 16, 2016 –Art Macomber completed his walking campaign this Saturday the 14th. Art started walking the 24 precincts of District 4A in October of 2015 and, except for a very few weekends in the dead of winter, he’s been out every Saturday starting at 9am meeting the constituents of the district, rain or shine.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time walking the precincts meeting Republican primary voters over the last seven months,” says Art. “Last week I met four people who had already voted for me! Those four people made all the work worthwhile!”

Art has one precinct left to walk and he’ll be out on Saturday to finish the job. “When I started this campaign, I was told the way to win the election was to walk, so that’s what I’ve done. If I win this election, it will be because of walking.”

macomberI haven’t kept exact track of the number of people I’ve met,” says Art. “However, based on the campaign literature I’ve gone through, I know I’ve visited over 1000 homes.”

The most interesting constituent I met was a woman who spent thirty years without electricity or water raising her family forty miles from the nearest store. She’s a woman who is proud of the hard work her husband and family accomplished to maintain their independence for those thirty years and grateful for the freedoms this country has preserved for its citizenry. You can’t meet people like that just anywhere in this country. The people of North Idaho are a special breed.”

Macomber’s platform calls for a reduction in Idaho’s reliance on the federal government, reduction of health care costs, and lower taxes. Macomber said he was disappointed that last winter the Legislature raised taxes in the middle of the night without allowing the public to comment on the proposal.

People from Coeur d’Alene were basically told to keep their mouths closed but their wallets open. That’s wrong,” Macomber said. “Additionally, with a Legislature that’s 80 percent Republican, we should have been able to solve Idaho’s transportation issues without needing to raise taxes, and I think the answer is a stronger year-round economy.”

Macomber continued, “As their representative, I pledge to the good people of District 4 that I will always vote for low taxes, and I will follow free market and constitutional principles.”

Macomber is the Managing Attorney of Macomber Law. Macomber Law has operated since 2006 in Coeur d’Alene. He is licensed in Idaho, Washington and Montana. Additionally, Art serves on the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Committee and is a member of the Federalist Society. Macomber and his wife, Leslie, have a daughter attending the University of Idaho and a son who will start at Lewis-Clark State University in the fall.
