Columbia County Soon To Be A Sanctuary County For Guns
Several years ago there was an effort to put signs around the High School making it a gun free zone, or what I would refer to as a free victim zone. Due to the effort of Ray Biggs and a lot of the people in the community, we convinced the School Board to rescind the policy that forbids teachers and volunteers who had CHL’s from carrying on school grounds. This policy was contrary to state law and put our children’s lives in danger. We can be proud to know that we have the only School District in the state that allows Teachers the opportunity to protect themselves and their students rather than take one for the team or watch another maniac run rampant until he decides to shoot himself.
Approximately 18 months ago, I asked the County Commissioners to put the Second Amendment Preservation Ordinance on the ballot to let the people vote on it and they refused to protect your rights…for the second time. I decided to start an Initiative. I am here to tell you that I will be submitting that Initiative next week and it WILL be on the November ballot.
I have had roadblocks from the Radical Left at all turns, but we overcame and collected the signatures. Inevitably some will get thrown out, but we have plenty of time and will still be collecting signatures to replace the ones that do. Don’t let this Walk for lies or school walk out PROPAGANDA keep you from helping make our County safer. Under the SAPO, it will be illegal for the County to enforce Unconstitutional Anti-Gun laws with money or manpower that have been passed since 2012. These include but are not limited to SB 941 (background check for private parties), SB 719A (Confiscation bill under the guise of suicide), HB 4145 (expansion of restraining orders and redefinition of FAMILY MEMBERS; Gun Confiscation Bill). So don’t forget to vote yes in November on County Initiative 16-7, the Second Amendment Preservation Ordinance. You get to make your County safer, protect your rights and those of your kids, and flip a big fat bird to Portland and Salem…all the things that make life worth living. Oh, did I mention that this Initiative has penalties if violated an emergency clause to take effect as soon as it passes. Thanks for the idea Kate. Oh, one more thing…let’s get rid of Kate Brown in November too.
