Radical Muslims are a Fallacy – There’s No Such Thing

Radical Muslims is a term that gives false implications. It is a distraction, an untruth. There is no more truth in calling someone a Radical Muslim than there is in calling someone a Radical Christian. Consider this:

The principles of Christianity are fairly simple.

1. There is one true God.
2. The Bible is the Word of God.
3. Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
4. Jesus dies for your sins.
5. Belief in the Resurrection.

These are the basics of being a Christian.

The Muslims, also, have basic principles of their core beliefs. They are called the 5 pillars of Islam:

1. Shahadah: Statement of Faith – “There is no god except Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah”.
2. Salah: Prayer – 5 times per day.
3. Sawn: Fasting from sunrise to sunset during the month of Ramadan.
4. Zakah: Making payment of 2.5% welfare tax on wealth.
5. Hajj: Going on a pilgrimage to Mecca.

These points are important to the discussion, because the show the basic principles of the believers.

Christians may have differing ‘denominations’ and how they practice the beliefs, yet the do not change on these basics. They know that Christ died for their sins, or they cannot consider themselves a Christian. It is clear and simple.

The same can be said of the Muslim beliefs. There may be different Sects of Islam, however, they must believe that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, or they cannot be a Muslim. Very plainly stated. There may be Muslims who don’t practice their religion, as with others, but their core beliefs are in place.

The Christian teachings are based in the Bible, just as the Muslim teachings are based in the Qur’an.

Some of the Liberal Progressives around the world would like for you to believe that ‘Radical’ Muslims are few, and not the norm within the Islamic Faith. This just isn’t true.

There may be groups of Muslims that consider themselves moderate, but they are no different than non-practicing Christians. These people do not practice their faith, or even study it, therefore they can easily denounce what they do not understand.

You can apply this to other types of groups, other than religion. A good example is politics.

How would you consider a person that made the following statement? “Life begins at conception, however, there are exceptions.”

This is a confusing statement, and has been made by people on both sides of the issue. This just shows that these people have not learned enough to be able to commit to either side of the subject. Just like their religious beliefs. They do not study it, therefore, they do not completely understand it.

But, what are the teachings of the Qur’an? The Religion Of Peace.com outlines it well, including:

The holiest book of Islam (61% of which is about non-Muslims) draws the sharpest of distinctions between Muslims (the best of people, 3:110) and non-believers (the worst of creatures, (98:6).

Christianity teaches that God loves all people, but hates sin. The Qur’an never says this. Instead it explicitly declares that Allah does not love those who do not believe in him:

He does not love the unbelievers (30:45)

“Allah is the enemy of the unbelievers” (2:98)

It is clear that the Qur’an teaches that non-believers, or infidels, are to be hated. Additionally, there are at least nine places in the Qur’an where believers are warned not to befriend non-Muslims:

O ye who believe! Take not for friends unbelievers rather than believers: Do ye wish to offer Allah an open proof against yourselves? (4:144)

Christians, according to the Qur’an, are included in the ranks of “unbelievers”:

They indeed have disbelieved who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary (5:17)

So, what are they to do? The Qur’an encourages hatred. Muslims are ordered to fight unbelievers:

O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty. (9:123)

Those with “diseased hearts” – which include Christians and Jews according to 5:52 – are to be “seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter” (33:60-62)

“I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them” (8:12)

It seems pretty clear that if someone professes their belief in the teachings of the Qur’an, they must also believe that infidels, or non-believers (of Islam) should be put to death.

What about Shari’a Law?

Islam is not just a religion. It is a complete a way of life, a basis of law (Shari’a) and personal behavior. Practicing Muslims follow Shari’a Law.

So, it comes down to this. If you were to ask a “Moderate” Muslim if he believes the teachings of the Qur’an, he would probably tell you that he does. However, if you were to ask him if he denounces Shari’a Law, would he?

The following is a video taken at a Muslim “Peace Conference” in Norway. This video shows that moderate Muslims believe what is usually attributed to ‘radicals.’

This proves that the term “Radical Muslim” is a fallacy.
