Murder Suspect Arrested in Spokane

James Mancuso, the suspect wanted in connection with the March 10th stabbing death of Robert Stevens in Nampa, was apprehended in Spokane, Washington on Saturday night.

Responding to a call concerning a reckless driver, Spokane Police, assisted by Spokane Sheriff Deputies, observed a man matching Mancuso’s description walking in the area north of Upriver Drive.

Officials said Mancuso started running away from the officers but they caught him three blocks later. Officers took him into custody without further incident. The officers did not know that the suspect was Mancuso at the time of the arrest.

Mancuso, age 32, has been on the run since March. Ashley Ford, age 27, is also charged in connection with the stabbing, was arrested in Las Vegas on May 3.

There was a brief manhunt in Bonner County, Idaho in March, which extended to Spokane Valley when the suspect’s vehicle was spotted.

The stabbing of Robert Stevens is thought to have happened when police said the two men got into an argument in front of a house. Investigators said the fight escalated and one of the men stabbed the other in the abdomen.

Mancuso faces a charge of 2nd degree murder. Ford is facing charges of accessory to second-degree murder.
