Mock Search and Rescue – Kootenai County

Rathdrum, Idaho – Kootenai County and Spokane County Search and Rescue teams will be conducting a mock search in Rathdrum, Idaho.

On April 24th, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM search and rescue teams will be training within the City of Rathdrum on urban search tactics and techniques. The search teams train extensively in back country environments, but will be receiving training on urban search methodology.

On Sunday, searchers will be combing neighborhoods throughout Rathdrum looking for their lost person. They will be going door to door looking for clues to find their missing person.

  1. Is this Ben Wolfinger’s way of campaigning for free? This has never been done before and it is quite curious to see that it is just 3 weeks before the Primary election in Kootenai County. Something smells like bad politics on Wolfinger’s part.

  2. Someone please explain to me, I’m a little slow. What on earth is a “Search and Rescue Team” searching for in an “URBAN” environment? Don’t we have numerous other agencies (police, fire, sheriff, etc.) that are supposed to do that already?
