The Homeless Population
(Will Continue To Grow)
By Pete Ketcham
All the “creative” efforts and programs various Democrat controlled cities have enacted to decrease their homeless population have failed due to primarily one issue….DRUGS.
Although there is a small element of the homeless population that prefer their present lifestyle, and will remain in it regardless, It has been estimated by various street surveys of large cities that 70% to 90% of the homeless are drug addicted.
It is now evident, that as long as drugs are available, the homeless population will grow, yet various Democrat controlled cities and states have done the very opposite of what would decrease homelessness. They have legalized drugs, created “shoot-up centers” (where they can receive clean needles and assistance in shooting-up), stopped prosecution and incarceration of drug dealers, and lastly opened the border to unrestricted drug traffic.
Democrat controlled cites such as New York, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and many others, have zero effective programs to take drugs of the street, and believe that the ultimate solution to homelessness is to provide free housing, but in reality it only moves the drug lifestyle indoors where they trash the housing facility.
Conclusion
In reality, the actual first step in solving the homeless problem begins at the ballot box. The citizens and businesses in these cities have year after year elected incompetent Democrat mayors and council members, when it was obvious the city was being grossly mismanaged.
Until the citizens of these cities wake up and remove the Democrat management of their cities, the homeless problem along with crime and drugs will continue to grow.
