Jeanette Finicum Tours Oregon,
Presents Documentary on LaVoy Finicum
LaVoy Finicum was acting as a leading spokesman for the Malhuer Occupation, while they were protesting the re-imprisonment of rancher’s Stephen and Dwight Hammond. LaVoy Finicum and the Malhuer Occupation leaders were on their way to a meeting in the town of John Day, Oregon, when Lavoy was forced off the road by a roadblock. Oregon State Police, directed by an FBI Hostage Rescue Team, then shot LaVoy Finicum 3 times in the back.
LaVoy Finicum’s widow, Jeanette Finicum, and documentary producer, Mark Herr, will visit Salem, Roseburg, Burns, and Canyon City, Oregon in January of 2019. In Salem, a two day event honors the 3rd anniversary of Finicm’s death (January 26) and his birthday (January 27th).
“LaVoy – Dead Man Talking” is a four part documentary that was created jointly by Mark Herr of the Center for Self Governance and Jeanette Finicum. They used 8 hours of videos that LaVoy Finicum had made in his quest to educate others on the Constitution and current politics. Jeanette stated that, “They silenced one mans voice, but in doing so, they created 13 more very loud voices”. This is in reference to herself and their 12 children that have carried on LaVoy’s quest to educate.
The Finicum Families’ wrongful death suit is currently at the point were defendants are asking for dismissals of the complaints against them. The case should be advancing to the discovery stage in February of 2019.
The Salem event is called “The Meeting that Never Happened, Part 2”. It will start at 9 am January 26 and continue into the afternoon of the next day. The location is at the VFW Marion Post 661, 630 Hood Street NE, Salem, Oregon. Speakers will include: Jeanette Finicum, Morgan Philpott, (attorney for wrongful death suit), Debbie Bacigalupi (speaking on Agenda 21), Mark Herr, (from the Center for Self Governance) and Shawna Cox, (witness inside Finicum’s truck).
