Introduction to Emergency Communications

PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD! THIS IS FREE - NOT BECAUSE THERE IS NO VALUE
IN IT, BUT BECAUSE I'M VOLUNTEERING MY TIME AND BECAUSE IT IS IMPORTANT
(especially if this topic is new to you)

Greetings patriots,
I hope you're having a blessed week. At the request of the Kootenai
County Assembly, I have volunteered to teach a free two-hour Introduction to
Emergency Communications class this Saturday.

What: Two-hour Introduction to Emergency Communications
Where: Candlelight Christian Fellowship Church, 5725 North Pioneer Drive
Coeur d'Alene, ID
When: Saturday, March 18th from 1pm to 3pm

Who: Anyone interested in learning how to stay informed and connected during
emergencies.

Cost: FREE (although we will accepting donations to help cover the cost of
the facility)

Why: If the internet, phones, and other communications stopped working, you
need to know what your options are to continue staying informed and in touch
with others.

In major disaster or cyber attack, our modern, complex, and fragile
telecommunications infrastructure could be disrupted or overwhelmed,
throwing you into information darkness. I'll discuss some very basic and
affordable ways that you could continue to stay informed, coordinate with
others, and be an effective member of your community in response to an
emergency. I'll be discussing past disasters which have left citizens and
local governments without the means of communicating, as well as success
stories involving unconventional communications and the people who used them
to keep information and news flowing. When we're done, you'll know what
your options are and what you can do to stay connected during an emergency -
how to receive information, what options there are for two-way sending of
information (licensed and unlicensed options), and how to prioritize what
first and following steps to take.

Bring a notepad and a pen. It will be a lot of information, and you won't
regret coming!

I look forward to seeing you if you can make it.
God bless,
-JJS
