WBCSD Zone 3 Needs To Re-elect Troy Reinbold

People shouldn’t always listen to the loudest voices or the candidate with big money funding them. I recently attended a Meet & Greet for Troy Reinbold. It was well attended, with a few attendees who were obviously not his supporters, which is fine. Troy had nothing to hide, and answered every question put to him.

That being said, Troy may not be the most “polished” candidate, but he is honest and wants the best for the children in the District. He is passionate about dealing with the mental health issues that are so pervasive in the schools and emphasized that he had tried several times to get a FREE suicide prevention program into our schools, but it was always put on the back burner. He will make it a priority in the future. He and his children attended Priest River schools and know first-hand the bullying that goes on, as they were considered “outsiders” because they lived outside of the city. I personally find this so unbelievable, sad, and just wrong on every level. Unfortunately, from what I’ve experienced during the levy and recall elections, I think it is learned from their parents.

Troy also clarified that he DID vote to put the levy before the public, because it should’ve been the community’s decision, but he did NOT campaign for or against it during the very contentious pre- election period. He is adamant that the forensic audit must be completed and believes that the public deserves to know where the District money is being spent. He is also resolute about the schools getting back to the basics of education and is determined to help figure out how to get more high schoolers to graduate. He believes that we need to set higher standards for the kids, not lower standards, so that they can just “pass” on to the next grade. He is sure that there are a lot of people with great ideas on how to make things better and is looking forward to hearing from them and working with those committed to making our schools institutions that we can all be proud of.

I heard from someone who worked at one of the polling locations for the Recall Election, that she observed parents (yes…more than one) bringing their 18-year-old child in to vote who were actually unable to sign their own name! This is absolutely unacceptable in today’s world. We need our kids to learn to read and write so they can become productive individuals in our little town!

Please try to attend one of Troy’s Townhalls to meet him and ask questions to see for yourself that he is our best candidate for Zone 3 Trustee.
