Humble Ourselves
“If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, then will I heal their nation.”
This was the text I received Wednesday morning after the election results. I also heard a customer at the store saying ‘God Bless You” after talking about praying for the election the night before. Intercessors for America had a state by state prayer conference call in the morning and then at night the day before the election, where everyone in the state could call and join in. Different churches in the area had prayer meetings before the election praying for our country. I received an email from our elder, sent to all members at our church, to be sure to vote. A friend told me on the Sunday before the election, that for the first time, their pastor urged everyone to be sure to vote.
According to the Washington Post’s religion analysis in its 2024 election summary of exit polls; Trump appears to have made gains among Christians, as well as among non-Christian people of faith.
Claiming God spared him from an assassin’s bullet to be president again, Donald Trump has won reelection. God is in control.

Trump administration needs to address IRS laws which forbid churches from weighing in on politics or risk losing their tax exempt status. This was an attack on the church and it needs to be revisited.
Actually, all not for profits organization are banned from weighting in on politics.
