What does Dick Cheney’s revelation yesterday that he will vote for Kamala Harris indicate to you?
“In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,” Cheney said in a statement. “He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again. As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris,” he concluded.
Does it indicate former “conservative” VP Cheney is putting duty above partisanship, or does it indicate that his point of view all those years ago as a Congressman from Wyoming and as a VP wasn’t what he claimed it was at the time?
Is it any wonder, now, when you look at our history over the last 50 years, even to a large extent including the Presidency of Ronald Reagan, why nothing ever seemed to change regardless of who was elected? Yes, electing Republicans did seemingly slow the growth of big government and its reach to an extent rather than if the Democrats would have won all those elections to the House, Senate and President. But really, at most, it slowed the spread of Federal tyranny slightly.
It has become increasingly clear that our “conservative” leaders in the Republican party were playing us all along. Not every one of them, but certainly the majority.
Cheney with his endorsement of Harris, and Pence with his refusal to endorse Trump, provide insight into their character. They can say they are conservative, patriotic, Christian, all they want. The actions speak louder than their words. They stand for the unchecked growth of a Federal bureaucracy which recognizes no boundary on the limit of power over the citizenry. Kamala Harris is very clearly a communist/socialist with no respect for the rule of law.
She clearly espouses not just a “pro-abortion” agenda, she is a fanatical disciple of the murder of innocent babies in and outside the womb.
She has personally overseen the complete disintegration of our southern border while claiming to have closed it to protect Americans. She stood by and commended BLM/Antifa rioters for burning the cities in 2020, AND raised money to bail out the few who were ever arrested for their crimes.
And this is the woman we are to look to save our country and our “democracy” from the likes of President Trump?
