Priest River Mayor To Be Chosen Dec. 19th

Priest River Mayor To Be Chosen Dec. 19th

The new mayor for Priest River will be chosen by Priest River City Council at the Dec 19 city council meeting, probably at 5:30 or 6 PM. There will be no interviews or public hearing. The councilmen agreed that since they already know both candidates, it is unnecessary for them to interview them. In other words, it will be a game of favorites, unless the residents/ businesses of Priest River write a lot of letters favoring one candidate over the other.

PLEASE write letters in favor of Billy Mullaley. His opponent voted at the county level to approve a large telecommunications facility in an agricultural zone by calling it a solar panel, even though none of the residents (except the absentee property owner) wanted it, and probably 30 of them spoke in front of the commissioners’ office with scientific documentation that the facility was, in fact, a telecommunication facility. As a telecommunication facility, this was a violation of the county comprehensive plan. Do we want the sort of person who will violate code to put in a facility the locals don’t want, by calling it something it is not, as mayor of Priest River?

Billy Mullaley has been mayor of Priest River in the past. As mayor, he allowed the public a 3-minute comment period at every meeting. He is willing to reinstate this. He cares what you think.

Please share this information far and wide. Thank you.
