Idaho Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin Announces Run For Idaho Governor
Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin

Janice McGeachin, Idaho’s Next Governor

by Darren Purdy

In late September of 2021, several articles were written about Janice McGeachin’s speech on the statehouse steps and her actions while acting governor. The Idaho Statesman–Newsweek and MSNBC all gave their narratives, slandering McGeachin as well as Idahoans in an untrue light, label-lynching by calling McGeachin “Far-Right” and outright equating anyone who believes in proper government, individual liberty, and fighting for the equal rights of all Americans as “Hard-Liners”.

Some may say that Idaho is in dire need of being rescued from “Far-Right” Radicals, inferencing these individuals as wholly responsible for the state’s problems.

Bob Kustra and other media outlets lead the narrative that this primary is going to be heisted by republicans because of the, supposed, Far-Right influence, with Janice leading the charge. In some ways, Janice is leading a charge, the charge of fed-up Idahoans who have been pushed around by policies and lawmakers whose prospects are all their own.

What we are really seeing is a statewide wakeup call, in which the citizens of Idaho are taking back civil justice by implementing their influence as the people. In the way which the Constitution of the United States of America intended it. Janice is one of the few in office who strives to accurately represent the will of the people. Yes, her actions to temporarily obtain the authority of governor was a desperate move because the people of Idaho ARE! desperate. Desperate to find political, social, and economic liberty.

To further understand why Janice did what she did, we should understand her position as lieutenant governor in conjunction to the governor.

Part of the responsibility of a governor is defined by the “Constitution of the State of Idaho” in which ARTICLE 5, SECTION 5 states: “The supreme executive power of the state is vested in the governor, who shall see that the laws are faithfully executed.” This, along with other various duties, is the overall job of the governor. Yet in-spite of this constitution, Little has not adequately upheld the rights of the people by allowing and enforcing obedience of mandates upon the people. The use of the term “mandate” in conjunction with the term “law” is obscure. Are we to obey a “mandate” at the disregard and violation of law?

In the process of making law, a Bill is run through a system of processes with committees, Senate hearings, and a supreme court ruling, until it is passed as law. This rigorous process makes for thorough checks and balances in passing law. The word mandate in its verb tense, means, “the authority to carry out a policy or course of action.” or to take authority to act in a certain way.

These two concepts are met by resistance when an unlawful mandate, violates the existence of an established law.

We also see in ARTICLE 5, SECTION 12 that in case of the failure to qualify through various circumstances, or the governor is absent from the state, or unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, that his powers and duties etc… devolve to the lieutenant governor.

If we look at our situation at the capitol and the actions of Janice in the light of Idaho’s constitution, we can begin to see how this story is unfolding and why certain actions were taken.

The violation of our civil liberties through unconstitutional mandates in healthcare, social policies, economic policies, employment, and COVID-19 restrictions are all just the tip of the iceberg of grievances.

Statements made about Janice and her supposed radical followers as being anti-government is invalid, and the COVID-19 pandemic is the smoke screen, their trojan horse.

Some politicians get away with unlawful deeds because their actions are influenced by global agendas with the protection of bought out media. Let the people of Idaho not be driven to wrong conclusions because of the shift of the Overton window. This is exactly what is at play.

Janice has Represented Idaho as a conservative influence for over 10 years. She became lieutenant governor on January 7th, 2017, with a 4-year term and is currently running to be elected as governor. Why should you vote for Janice? Because she is doing her best to keep Idaho free by closely watching budgets, presiding over committees, and bringing accountability to the government on what is lawful, because she stood by Todd Engel when he was wrongfully treated by a corrupt system, because she fights to secure our individual liberties as Americans, because Idaho needs someone who will put themselves on the political chopping block to secure domestic tranquility. In these things she has proved her commitment and it’s clear that she is the one for the job.
