Kootenai Republican Gala Event of the Year

by Shari Dovale

The Kootenai County Republicans (KCRCC) held their annual Lincoln Day fundraising event, and as has become their trademark, it was the event of the year. The formal event has been so well received that this year’s event was sold out in the first few days.

Held on the anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth, the event drew political leaders from all over Idaho. The Coeur d’Alene resort ensured that over 700 guests were treated to an exceptional evening.

The KCRCC, guided by Chairman Brent Regan, has become known for their innovative Rating & Vetting Program. Designed to be open and transparent, the process is intended to aid the local voters in determining which candidates are most qualified for the positions they seek in upcoming elections. The process has become so popular that it has been implemented in multiple counties throughout the state.

The keynote speaker for the evening was award-winning filmmaker, Dinesh D’Souza. He tells us that he was born in India and came to the U.S. as an exchange student at the age of 18. You can learn more about him on his website, here: https://dineshdsouza.com/

Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin gave a ‘State of the State’ address, and Congressman Russ Fulcher gave an update, as well.

A much anticipated and popular part of the evening came with the announcement of the KCRCC’s Scholarship Competition Winners.
