Twitter Declares They Were Racists

More precisely, the Twitter Image Cropping Algorithm was biased in favor of presenting white people over black people, and women over men.
After multiple users complained about the image cropping system, Twitter said they looked into it and found the following:
- In comparisons of men and women, there was an 8% difference from demographic parity in favor of women.
- In comparisons of black and white individuals, there was a 4% difference from demographic parity in favor of white individuals.
- In comparisons of black and white women, there was a 7% difference from demographic parity in favor of white women.
- In comparisons of black and white men, there was a 2% difference from demographic parity in favor of white men.
The racist company then claimed that one explanation might be that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) software tends to favor images with high contrast, which is more strongly present in people with lighter skin on dark backgrounds or people with darker eyes on lighter skin.
Twitter apparently believes that an Algorithm, built by humans and programmed by humans, can take all of the responsibility away from them for racist behaviors, yet they are quick to call out anyone they choose for behavior that may not actually have anything at all to do with race.
