Racist Regime Targets Blacks With Menthol Ban
by Shari Dovale
The Racist Harris-Biden Regime has unleashed another attack on African Americans with their new menthol ban.
The FDA admits that low income, black, and LGBT individuals individuals “are far more likely to use these tobacco products.”
Some reports have this number as high as 4 out of 5 people that use mint-flavored cigarettes are black. This, if true, would seem to confirm the targeting of Blacks among the Harris-Biden Regime.
Proponents of the ban suggests that the health issues of Black Americans are what is at issue. However, because so many Black smokers use menthol cigarettes, civil rights activists, including black leaders like Al Sharpton, warned that such a ban is discriminatory.
They warn that criminalizing these products may lead to an underground network and give rise to legitimizing local law enforcement to target Black people.
As proof, they point to the fatal arrest of Eric Garner in 2014, an unarmed black man, by New York City police on suspicion of illegally selling “loosies”, or single cigarettes from a pack.
That case study helped defeat a menthol ban in New York City in 2019.
The debate also suggest that Menthol cigarettes could become the new marijuana, arresting people for possessing or dealing something that should never have been illegal in the first place.
These arguments have prompted the FDA to state that they will not enforce the ban against individuals, just manufacturers. We all know that the government would never intentionally misread the law, so everyone should be safe from arrest for illegal cigarettes, right?
