Idaho Will Remain in Stage 4

• June 25: Idaho will remain in Stage 4 for at least two weeks.
• July 9: Idaho will remain in Stage 4 for at least another two weeks.
• July 23: Idaho will remain in Stage 4 for at least another two weeks.
• August 6: Idaho will remain in Stage 4 for at least another two weeks.
• August 21: Idaho will remain in Stage 4 for at least another two weeks.
• September 3: Idaho will remain in Stage 4 for at least another two weeks.

Sounds like a broken record. Just how does Governor Little decide if we have herd immunity? What is the benchmark or number of cases that is acceptable? The next flu season is quickly approaching.

What about the people’s representatives? The House passed a resolution to end the “emergency”. The Senate would not even consider it. Why? Senate President pro-tempore Hill is retiring. He’s not up re-election. What does he have to gain in this charade?

Hill pleases the Governor, as he begs for his cushy appointment to pad his PERSI retirement. Of course he is going to push aside a resolution that would cut the Governor’s power. And no Senator had the spine to stand up for the people, kowtowing to the AG’s opinion. You guessed it, the AG is in the Governor’s pocket as well.

Well, I think they should read the Idaho Constitution themselves:

ARTICLE III LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT

Section 27.  Continuity of state and local governmental operations. The legislature, in order to insure continuity of state and local governmental operations in periods of emergency resulting from disasters caused by enemy attack or in periods of emergency resulting from the imminent threat of such disasters, shall have the power and the immediate duty (1) to provide for prompt and temporary succession to the powers and duties of public offices, of whatever nature and whether filled by election or appointment, the incumbents of which may become unavailable for carrying on the powers and duties of such offices, and (2) to adopt such other measures as may be necessary and proper for so insuring the continuity of governmental operations. In the exercise of the powers hereby conferred, the legislature shall in all respects conform to the requirements of this constitution except to the extent that in the judgment of the legislature so to do would be impracticable or would admit of undue delay.
