We Need More Honesty

Dr Scott Atlas, a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, penned “Lies, Damn Lies and COVID-19 Statistics” for PJ Media, July 3, 2020. Explaining that “case” merely means a positive test and that one-half of cases are asymptomatic (Does not exhibit symptoms) which means that a new case does not mean an illness, the doctor questions most of the shallow reporting about COVID-19. Instead, he suggests, we should “… focus on who is getting infected and the death rate.”

Twenty five percent of patients who have come into a hospital for some other reason are then tested and discovered to also have COVID-19. No symptoms. In Texas, approximately fifteen percent of the hospital beds are occupied due to the virus. That means the other eighty-five percent are occupied for other health care reasons.

So far, the COVID-19 recovery rate is ninety-nine percent.

Dr Atlas states that school-age children are not at serious risk.

In “The American Thinker” (July 2, 2020), Brian C Joondeph, MD, asks “Is The COVID-19 Surge More Fake News?” “Health officials in Texas are logging every single COVID-19 positive hospital patient as a COVID-19 hospitalization, even if the patients themselves are admitted seeking treatment for something other than the coronavirus.” In other words, the “surge” is misleading.

Local reporting of “cases” in Idaho and Bonner County is noteworthy. The 6,994 reported “cases” in Idaho were .004% of the population. The 26 “cases” in Bonner County represented only .001%.
