Commissioner Bradshaw has “Earned his Keep”

I did not know Steve Bradshaw before he ran for County Commissioner in 2018, but observing him during forums and public meetings told me that he was not your run-of-the-mill political candidate.

He made his platform very clear: fiscally and socially conservative, small-government-oriented, opposed to heaping more property taxes on us, and looking to do away with onerous regulations. He said upfront he would not take the upcoming pay raise (and held to it). As a supporter of CANSS, I also appreciated his clear stand against the proposed silicon smelter.

He never used the word “transparency” that I recall, but he made it known that there hadn’t been enough of it. Simply stated, he was on the same page as so many of us, which was why he was elected by a sizeable margin.

Running for his second term now, his track record has not deviated from his campaign promises. He has added to it by standing strong when it came to defending the 2nd Amendment which an un-serious City Council ignored by caving to the capricious demands of a rock band.

In other words, he has been a workhorse of conservative values and, by the way, managed to do that with an attendance record better than some Commissioners we’ve seen and despite some downtime due to a serious illness.

I believe Commissioner Bradshaw has “earned his keep”. I look forward to voting for his second term so we can keep the County on the right course.
