WBCSD Proposed Policy: Enrollment Of Homeless Children

Enrollment Of Homeless Children

WBCSD Proposed Policy Regarding
The Enrollment Of Homeless Children

It is my understanding that the West Bonner County School District (WBCSD) is considering adopting a proposal titled, “Students 3060, Education of Homeless Children.”

In this proposal there is a disturbing requirement regarding allowing an enrollment without documentation, such that children who have been kidnapped, are being trafficked, have an infectious disease, are transient, or who are an immigrant plant that is 18 or older but appears younger, would be admitted and enjoy an education and all that goes with it at taxpayer expense.

The proposal states:

Immediate Enrollment:
1. In General: The school selected in accordance with this policy shall immediately enroll the homeless student, even if the student:
A. Is unable to produce records normally required for enrollment, such as previous academic records, birth certificate, proof of guardianship, records of immunization and other required health records, proof of residency, or other documentation;

Is this one of the benefits you would like to see made available; paid for with your tax and levy dollars?

Thank you,
Gary Domke
