Israel was originally going to assassinate General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s overseas arm, the Quds Force. The US had even given their blessings to get it done, as was reported by he Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida.

According to the report, Washington’s purported nod to kill the Iranian general comes three years after the US thwarted an Israeli attempt to assassinate him near Damascus.

The newspaper first published a report based on an Israeli government source who was cited as saying, “there is an American-Israeli agreement” that Soleimani is a “threat to the two countries’ interests in the region“—which reportedly led to a Washington green-light for the Israelis to assassinate him.

However, it seems most interesting that the Obama administration was said to have warned the Iranians of the impending Israeli plot which, according to sources, was circumvented because of the Obama warning.

Additionally, this decision to tip off the Iranians “sparked a sharp disagreement between the Israeli and American security and intelligence apparatuses regarding the issue.”

So, the history of our country’s involvement includes the previous plan, yet it did not go through because of the Obama Admin leaking to the Iranians.

The Democrat-controlled Congress is now having fits over President Trump not going through them first before his decision to authorize the mission to remove this terrorist and stop him from killing more Americans.

Is it any wonder that President Trump did not want to tell the Democrats what was in the works?
