Several dozen constituents showed up at the Ponderay Events Center on Thursday to meet with Congressman Russ Fulcher.

Introducing the Congressman was State Representative Sage Dixon.

Covering topics ranging from the Democrat impeachment process to Bunkerville defendant Todd Engel, Rep. Fulcher brought the people up to date on his first 10 months in office.

Though several topics were covered, the questions kept turning back to the impeachment process initiated by the Democrats. The public was well informed and interested in the Congressman’s comments. Not everyone showed agreement with Fulcher, but he expressed his respect to everyone for being part of the process.

The Congressman did show his frustration at being unable to get other work accomplished due to Washington DC being so focused on this topic as well. He stated that he had over 40 bills that he has either sponsored or co-sponsored, yet very few of them seem to be moving.

Expressing his irritation at the intelligence community and senior law enforcement for the country, he said they seemed to have no accountability in the process.

Rep. Fulcher did want to reassure the community that political prisoner Todd Engel has not been forgotten, and that things are progressing on that front.

You can watch the video below to see the full range of discussion. Fulcher answered questions for about an hour.

“We don’t live in a Democracy. We live in a Republic. And a Republic has a couple of prerequisites if it is going to succeed over time. You have to be informed, and you have to be willing to engage”  ~ Congressman Russ Fulcher, Oct 10, 2019

  1. I am glad this video was posted, thank you.
I have a question about the impeachment questions. Were people at this event for or against impeachment? It sounded like the people asking the questions wanted the President impeached, which I would think weird for North Idaho.
    Thank you.

    • Though Idaho is seen as a ‘red’ state, both side are represented here. That is the short answer, the long answer would be a full length article. 🙂
