Zito Announces for Idaho Senate

Christy Zito has proven herself to be a champion for the people of Idaho.

During her tenure in the Idaho House, Zito became known as the Strongest Pro-Second Amendment Advocate in the state.

Additionally, her stances on subjects like the Sanctity of Life, Private Property Rights and Public Lands confirm her conservative values.

In a region-wide poll, Zito was voted the Most Admired Person for 2018.

With the retirement of Senator Bert Brackett, Representative Zito has decided to run for the Idaho Senate. This is a good move for Idaho, as we need her strong conservative values in the upper house.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Rep. Christy Zito Announces Candidacy for Idaho State Senate, District 23

Hammett, ID, September 12, 2019: Following the announcement that incumbent Senator Bert Brackett will be retiring following this term, Rep. Christy Zito has announced her candidacy for the seat.

“As much as I love my colleagues in the House, I believe that I can bring a much needed conservative perspective to the Idaho Senate,” Zito said. “Too often we see good, conservative legislation die or get ignored in the Senate, and I hope to change this.”

First elected in 2016, Zito has quickly become a recognized leader and an outspoken voice for gun rights, health freedom, and other conservative causes. In the 2019 legislative session, she was a lead sponsor on House Bill 206 to expand constitutional carry in Idaho.

Zito is optimistic about the future. “Idaho is a wonderful place to live and I look forward to serving my community and my state in the Senate as we continue to work toward securing our freedoms and protecting our values.”

I remain committed to serving as your conservative voice in the Senate just as I have in the House. It is an honor to serve you, to know you, and to be your friend.”
