Building a Memory

BlanchardThe sleepy little hamlet of Blanchard is normally just a drive-thru wide spot on Highway 41 for folks going back and forth from Bonner County to Kootenai County. Not much happens here on the weekends but this weekend was different.

The monumental efforts of one family to turn a tragedy into a triumph was on full display in Blanchard.

Alan and Kelly Corning and their extended family put in an all-out effort to turn the tragic loss of their young son Wyatt into a joyful celebration for kids, parents and all who attended. The games, petting zoo, food and fun really brought out a crowd.

The Cornings are a gifted and talented family whose compassion and generosity makes all who call Blanchard home feel good about the American spirit, the blessings of God and the sense of bringing a rural community closer through giving.

Thank you to the Corning family for your generosity and infectious positive spirit to our town and our lives. Wyatt will not be forgotten.
