READ: Jussie Smollett Bond Proffer Outlines Evidence
by Shari Dovale
Jussie Smollett perpetrated a hoax on the Chicago Police and the rest of the country, and has walked away from his crimes without so much as an apology.
After extensive investigation by the Chicago Police Department, the Grand Jury determined the evidence against Jussie Smollett warranted an indictment of the Empire actor of 16 felonies. He faced decades in prison, possibly to the end of his life.
Smollett orchestrated what was originally thought to be a Hate Crime, as he is a gay black man. However, this was not the truth. The truth is, Smollett wanted more money and fame, and used his hatred of President Trump to get it.
Read the bond proffer below, in which the Chicago PD outline the steps they took, and the evidence they gathered, to determine the truth of this crime.
It has been reported that this is not the full scope of the evidence gathered, but it certainly seems to be enough for the grand jury.
On March 26, 2019, the State Attorney dropped all charges against Smollett. He walked away without even being asked to apologize to the citizens of Chicago or the Police Department.
These people are rightfully furious with the actor, as their city has been unjustly smeared in his selfish campaign for money and fame.
In a press conference, Mayor Rahm Emanuel said “You cannot have, because of a person’s position, one set of rules apply to them and one set of rules apply to everybody else.”
Police Superintendent, Eddie Johnson also stated, “I think this city is still owed an apology. At the end of the day,” he added, “it’s Mr. Smollett who committed this hoax.”
