Historic Rally Draws Thousands to Boise

An estimated 2,000 people attended a rally supporting gun rights at the Boise Capitol steps on Saturday. The rally was sponsored by the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance (ISAA), headed by Greg Pruett.
Speakers included Ammon Bundy, Alexandria Kincaid, attorney, and Erich Pratt of Gun Owners of America.
Bundy was involved in a protest led by his father, Cliven Bundy, in Bunkerville, NV in 2014. Many citizens of Idaho attended that rally. He was also involved in a protest in Burns, OR in 2016 which also drew people from around the country.
Alexandria Kincaid is an attorney actively involved on second amendment issues. She has written several bills for the ISAA.
Erich Pratt is the executive director for Gun Owners of America (GOA). GOA is a non-profit lobbying organization formed in 1975 to preserve and defend the Second Amendment rights of gun owners.
This is not the first rally held by ISAA, but it is, by far, the largest. People gathered from several states, and as far away as Arizona to support the Second Amendment and gun rights.
Idaho is known as one of the most gun friendly states in the Union, but these folks want to be sure to keep it that way.
It was discussed that nearby states have also been known previously as “gun-friendly” states, such as California, Oregon, and Washington. They have lost that distinction through apathy from the citizens.
The major concerns raised by the speakers included ‘red flag laws’, or Gun Confiscation Orders — that will allow the police to take guns from those who have committed no crimes.
The second amendment has been under siege by gun control advocates throughout the country, and even Idaho had a group of gun-grabbers at a rally this past Spring.
However, this rally in favor of individual gun rights is believed to have drawn one of the largest crowds in Idaho history.
