Constitution Party Idaho
State Convention 2018
The Constitution Party of Idaho (CP-Idaho) will hold its 2018 State Convention at Mountain Home (Public Library Conference Room, 790 N 10th E St, Mountain Home, ID 83647) on Saturday, August 4, 2018.
Our program will begin with an informal gathering on Friday evening, August 3rd, beginning after 5:30 p.m. with light refreshments served. On Friday evening we will announce several Elmore County precinct captains plus a presentation on the Baliacrach and the Highland Clearances, and how they relate to our present day circumstances.
On Saturday morning, beginning 9:00 a.m. we will undertake our official state convention business and committee reports in the morning session. Among items of business affecting the state party’s future will be two significant decisions.
First, is a decision on whether to open the March 2020 Idaho Presidential Primary for Unaffiliated (Independent) voters.
Second, is a decision on whether to remain affiliated with the national Constitution Party. In addition, two amendments to the state party by-laws will be taken up in the morning session.
Following lunch break in the afternoon session, our principle purpose is to hear from our candidates for State Legislature. This will be followed by discussion of a Citizens’ Initiative on the Idaho “Rainy Day Fund”. And then will come the 2020 candidate endorsements and state party officer elections plus miscellaneous business.
CP-Idaho again invites our registered voters to attend their State Convention at Mountain Home. Light lunch fare on Saturday will also be provided. Donations to offset catering costs are gratefully accepted.
