Why are we fighting so hard? John Adams said, “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.” In response to the question if the Constitutional Convention of 1787 had chosen a monarchy or a republic, Benjamin Franklin remarked, “A republic if you can keep it.”

Since 1962, when prayer was taken out of school, there has been a steady decline of morality, education, family, and religion in our country. We are far from the Good ‘Ole Days of our Forefathers. There are several theories, even an agenda, that perpetuate this decline. Our Constitutional Republic is merely a memory today. Taxes, slavery, unemployment, and disease contributed to the fall of the Roman Republic, the greatest republic the world had seen at that point in history. Here we are, modern day America, with burdensome taxes, outrageous debt (slavery), unemployment, and disease (cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc.). Are we propelling towards the fall of our Republic? President Trump has successfully reversed some taxes and unemployment, but is it enough to keep the Republic?

Vladimir Lennon said, “Give me just one generation of youth and I will change the whole world.” We saw this with Hitler using the youth as puppets to bring in his regime into full power. With the recent high school students protesting across America, it’s obvious liberals are in control of many youth in our country.

Why not just give up and give in? It’s overwhelming at times with the noise created by the left. Ronald Regan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” The love we have for our children and their children and their children is why we can’t give up. Why we won’t give up!

Being diligent in reaching our youth, being diligent in seeking out and raising a generation of leaders is what the focus of those of us who want to keep the republic should be. It’s no easy task but there is success in numbers.

There is hope. The principles of limited government, individual liberty, and free enterprise work every time. That’s why I am fighting. I hope you will continue to fight along side me.
