Zuiderveld Announces for Idaho 25A
Small business owner and Jerome resident Glenneda Zuiderveld has announced her candidacy for Idaho Legislative House Seat A in District 25.
Zuiderveld is a graduate from Jerome High School. She and her husband Tom have been married for 32 years, and have 3 sons, two of which have served their country in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Zuiderveld, along with her husband, have been small business owners for over 25 years. This adds to her understanding of the issues her constituents face on a daily basis.
“I believe that there needs to be more audits on spending to see where we can make effective cuts, saving taxpayers money. A good business person knows that you do not keep putting money toward things that do not produce positive results,” Zuiderveld tells us.
Some of her issues include:
Education – She is against common core, and in favor of auditing the education budget to see exactly where the money is going. “We keep increasing the funds with out increasing the expectation of what we are getting for the money.”
Better vetting for refugees – “We need better vetting for refugees. Additionally, the sponsorship program for those who want to enter America needs to be put back into place. This will allow for more accountability.”
Public Lands – “We need to take back our public lands from the federal government. Not only can we manage them better, but Idaho would greatly benefit from this management.”
Constitution – “I strongly believe in making every decision according to our Constitution.”
Zuiderveld’s reasons for running are simple, “The people of Idaho need to be heard by their Representatives. Not enough elected officials are hearing their citizens. And we need to bring back real transparency to our district, and our state.”
