Skeptics prevail

We realize there is an enormous amount of skepticism out there on the validity of using medical marijuana, but the more research that is done, the more we have to respect the findings of the researchers. Most people don’t realize that what we call marijuana or Cannabis Sativa dates back 10,000 years and has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries and is one of the oldest medicines known to mankind.

Prior to 1937, Cannabis oil was available over the counter in just about every pharmacy in the country. In that year, the marijuana tax act was passed and the DEA made up the name marijuana from the most common names in Mexico: Mary and Juan. When the tax act was passed making cannabis illegal, the American Medical Association did not protest against this tax because they didn’t know what marijuana was. It was a new word coined by the DEA. The AMA’s Dr. Woodward testified after the act was passed that they would have protested had they known that marijuana was actually cannabis but, due to its hidden identity, there were no protests.

The Demonization of Cannabis because of its diverse uses

The Government was putting out all kinds of tales about how dangerous and evil this plant was and this misinformation spread like wildfire across the country. The government said this was a recreational drug used only to get high. This lie was perpetuated through the media and just like the fake news today the drug was soon shunned. We are still being deceived by the government about this plant. When we look back, one of the first Model T’s Henry Ford produced was made of cannabis / hemp fiber and ran on hemp fuel.

How many of you realize that one of the first versions of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were written on hemp paper. Between 1683 and the early 1700’s you could actually pay your taxes with hemp. For a time you were required to grow it because it had so many uses and most of the founding fathers had farms that grew hemp. It’s a good bet most of you were not taught about this history instead we have been told Marijuana/Hemp/Cannabis are evil and bad for you when in actuality this plant has more uses then you can count especially for medicinal purposes.

Because of its diverse uses, it became one of the biggest threats to the medical-industrial establishment. This is because of its hundreds of health benefits which would compete with the pharmaceutical industry that produces hundreds of billions of dollars annually from the sale their drugs. So here we have a plant that grows freely just about anywhere that was threatening a trillion dollar industry. This created an irrational response with the vilification and criminalization for using cannabis.

Cannabis which has hundreds of uses therapeutically and for centuries was not a patentable commodity and therefore a threat to big pharma and its egregious profits. Instead under the lobbying efforts of the drug companies, you only hear of cannabis referred to as pot, weed, reefer, or any other slang name they can come up with to disparage its use. The U.S. Government were the ones that popularized the name Marijuana to make the name sound foreign and associate it with immigrants in a smear campaign to discourage the use of cannabis as a medicine.

Treating the very worst diseases with cannabis

The use of cannabis is quite old and has developed through the ages. It was spread from place to place around the earth because of its many uses. The problem with natural medicines like cannabis is that there is no profit in them for big pharma; instead, they will spend hundreds of millions of dollars to synthesize these medicines because they are patentable. The problem with synthesized products is they have too many side effects.

Doctors have only in recent times discovered the many uses of cannabis in the treatment of Cancer, Alzheimer’s, Chronic Pain, Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, and Epilepsy; and they are treating their patients today with cannabis. In an era where we are finding many microbes resistant to antibiotics, it is imperative that we search for and use every means at our disposal, especially natural medicine, to defend against these deadly microbes. Natural medicines tend to stimulate healing from within our own immune systems whereas synthesized drugs tend to suppress the symptoms and never get to the root cause of the problem.

Cannabis could be the answer to the biggest challenges in healthcare

Cannabis is a plant which contains a multitude of compounds we are just starting to learn about that can be used for medicinal purposes. It is not just one medicine; it is many, and the effective dosing range is incredibly broad and safe while the side effects profile is mild compared to the alternatives and it is non-toxic—even if taken at many times the recommended dosage.

Cannabis could be the answer to some of our biggest challenges in healthcare and we will see many innovations for its use in the future. When cannabis detractors talk about the life-saving plant, they remind us only of its phsyco-active compound THC and its recreational use for people to get high. They never bother to address the hundreds of other compounds called cannabinoids which are used for medicinal purposes such as CBD oil. CBD is such a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that the U.S. government has a patent on CBD as a nuro-protective for the brain.

What is the endocannabinoid system?

Twenty years ago, the human/animal endocannabinoid system was discovered. You can find this information if you do a Pub Med search for the peer-reviewed articles that have been published. These articles describe the system and there has been an average of one article published every other day for the last twenty years. There have been thousands of articles published about a system that is well-established about the human and animal physiology. The endocannabinoid system works to promote the well-being of the whole organism and is comparable to the endorphin system which was only discovered about 20 years before the endocannabinoid system. Do you realize that the good feeling you get after a lot of exercise or from sex actually comes from the endocannabinoid system?

The amazing plant that grows freely just about everywhere

Because it was difficult to obtain with the government ban on cannabis, it could only be obtained on the black market and in that market, the emphasis was placed on growing cannabis with high levels of THC (the psychoactive part of the plant) which was more likely to be used for recreational purposes. Cannabis can be cultivated in different ways to produce more of the cannabidiol which is actually anti-psychotropic and counters the THC. Cannabinoids have over 250 medicinal uses.

What is amazing about this plant is that it has been documented to be a life-saver when it comes to stage 3 and 4 cancer when patients have taken CBD oil made from cannabis. Most allopathic doctors will not accept this even with irrefutable documentation. They have been brainwashed in medical school to learn that anything natural and not officially tested by the FDA can’t possibly work and, when it does work, they call it a miracle or spontaneous remission. That is just so much bull and they are being proven wrong each and every day as more people are cured with the use of natural medicines.

Natural Medicine needs to be brought into mainstream treatments

As many of you know, my wife used to be the editor of this news site until she succumbed to cancer last December. What needs to be said is that we actually had her in remission with five different protocols of natural medicines. In October of last year, her doctor got all of the tests back for cancer and said she could not find any signs of the disease and outright declared it a miracle. We did not use cannabis but instead used other natural products like pancreatic enzymes, Paw Paw extract, and beta Glucan along with a high-content antioxidant.

Unfortunately, my wife did not survive as she was tired and quit fighting along with stopping her medications. My point is why would government, doctors, and the FDA refuse patients access to natural medicines that can actually make people well and won’t do them any harm? It’s because when they actually work, they threaten the medical-industrial complex and its outrageous control over our healthcare system. It appears that there is so much money to be made from sick people that the safe bet is to keep them sick by not allowing anything that is not patentable to be used for the care of these patients with supposedly incurable diseases.

Natural Medicines do no harm unlike synthetic drugs

The war on Cancer has been going on for 41 years and more than a trillion dollars have been spent on research and they are still no closer to a cure. Curing cancer has become a $100 billion a year business for the medical industry, employing over 90,000 people. So why is it that the survival rate for traditional chemotherapy for a 5 year period is just a little over 2 percent? “Just Follow the Money to know why we haven’t cured Cancer”.

We need to start looking at result oriented medicine much like they do in Japan where they are curing cancer with natural medicines every day. If it works, it should be permitted to be used as long as it does no harm. These natural medicines should be available on the free market and many are, but you have to search high and low to find out where to purchase them. Natural medicines are very safe, especially when compared to synthetic drugs created by drug companies.

U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration drug sheet for marijuana reports that no deaths from marijuana overdose have ever been recorded. That’s not the case with pharmaceuticals like opioids which are causing the loss of 50 to 100 thousand lives every year. Vioxx, which was FDA-approved, killed 60,000 all by itself.

Politicians should not have the ability to tell people which medicines they can or can’t take; this is called “Medical Freedom”. Governor Otter does not have medical license, and he should not be making judgements on which medicines are ok to take and which are not. His veto needs to be reversed in this next legislative session. It’s time for Dr. Otter to exit stage left along with his crony policies.
