On August 13th at just after 4:00 AM, a Kootenai County Sheriff’s Deputy was conducting a security check in the area of Stoddard Park, in the City of Hayden. As he was driving through the area, he saw a Jeep Cherokee parked next to a Hayden City Street Department vehicle.

The Jeep had a funnel sticking out of its fuel tank. Next to the Jeep was a gasoline can and a siphoning hose sticking out of the Street Department truck.

As the deputy approached the Jeep, he found footwear that appeared to belong to a male. He also observed a female asleep – or passed out in the front seat of the Jeep. The deputy also saw drug paraphernalia sitting on the center console.

Once the deputy was able to wake the female, he found her clutching more drug paraphernalia. As she exited the Jeep, the Deputy also found that she had been sitting on a small bag that contained additional drugs – methamphetamine.

The female, later identified as Alyssa A. Wolff, 22 years old of Coeur d’Alene, was arrested for possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and an outstanding drug warrant.

Additional deputies searching around the scene located a male hiding in the area. He was later identified as Scott T. Miller, 25 years old, also of Coeur d’Alene. Miller admitted to siphoning gasoline from the Hayden City vehicle and was subsequently arrested for possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia, burglary and possession of a simulated controlled substance and an outstanding drug warrant.

Both Miller and Wolff will have first appearance in court on Monday.
