Ironman Donates To Kootenai Search and Rescue

Kootenai County, Idaho – World Triathlon Corporation (Ironman) makes donation to Kootenai County Sheriff’s Volunteer Search and Rescue Unit (VSAR).

On Friday May 27, 2016, the World Triathlon Corporation donated a 2008, 40 foot enclosed trailer to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Volunteer Search and Rescue Unit (VSAR).

The donated trailer will be used as the VSAR’s new Command Post. The trailer VSAR currently has is too small for their needs, and purchasing a new trailer was beyond VSAR’s ability since the unit relies on donations and fund raising events for most of their budget.

The VSAR Unit currently has eighty two volunteers that perform various functions like K-9 Teams, Man Trackers, ATV/Snowmobile Teams, Ground Searchers, and Support Teams.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Ironman for their donation of the trailer to the VSAR Unit. The trailer was greatly needed and will be greatly appreciated.
