Incumbents Set to Win By Default in Idaho
There are literally dozens of incumbents in Idaho that are currently running unopposed.
In both the Senate and the House, incumbents are getting a free ride.
These are default elections, and the results of citizens not paying attention.
You aren’t going to see any controversial legislation brought up this week. No gun bills, nothing on school choice, not a word about anything that might put their seats at risk for a challenger.
Next week, however, when they are safe from competition, then you will start to see the important issues being shot down. Or given over to the special interest groups. Or ignored, just because they can.
Elected officials grow lazy without competition. They get sloppy and forget to care about the important issues. They only seem to remember that they need to get reelected. That is what is driving them to stay under the radar this week.
The only way to keep them motivated is to challenge their seat in government. Competition is healthy for everyone, even elected officials. Competition makes everyone grow.
Make your Senators and Representatives take notice of the people. Sometimes, this is the only way to get their attention. Make them earn their votes!
If you want meaningful change in the State of Idaho, you must stand up and be counted. Find those Constitutional Candidates and get them on the ballot.
There is still time.
Anyone can file with the Secretary of State’s office up through Friday, March 11, 2016.
It is the Citizen’s duty to watch over their elected officials. It is their responsibility to get, and keep, the government they desire. Any seat that goes unopposed means the people are not doing their due diligence.
The People get the government that they allow.
