Idaho Pastor Expected To Recover *Updates*
The popular Idaho Pastor was shot six times, and remained in critical condition at Kootenai Medical Center late Sunday afternoon. Remington was conscious and talking to emergency workers on the way to the hospital.
While he was in surgery, a crowd estimated at about 200 showed up at the hospital.
Outreach Pastor John Padula said that Remington suffered a shattered pelvis, a skull fracture, a broken arm and a punctured lung. He said that all bullets have been removed and Remington is expected to live.
Family friend, Gary Brown posted on Facebook, “He was shot in the side of the head but the bullet hit his skull. It did not penetrate his brain! He was shot in the arm and broke a bone. He took three rounds to the body and is suffering from a deflated lung. He took one round to the hip. It will be a few weeks before he will be walking. “
Though this shooting came just a day after he prayed with the Republican candidate, Ted Cruz, there is no indication that the two are connected.
The church has surveillance video which is hoped to assist in identifying the shooter. Police described the suspect as a white man in his mid-30s, with blond hair. It appears that there is video surveillance of the man waiting in a silver car.
Witnesses at the scene have said that the suspect attended church services and then waited in his car for Remington to come out of the church before shooting him in the parking lot.
KHQ is reporting that the CDA Police Department have announced that 30 year old Kyle Odom is the suspect in this shooting.
Gaining a degree in counseling, Remington has had various outreach programs over the years, ministering to those with alcohol and drug problems. He now runs several programs, including Victim Offender Mediation, Family Mediation, Drug and Alcohol Counseling, among others.
