Lincoln Day Dinner Draws Candidates to Bonner County
The Bonner County Republican Central Committee (BCRCC) held their annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday, February 13, 2016. Held in Ponderay, the event drew a large crowd, with several well know GOP names traveling to Bonner County for the event.
This year, being an election year, drew many citizens interested in what their government is doing. Candidates were plentiful at Saturday’s event, willing to discuss their stance on a variety of issues. Redoubt News, and our own Don Bradway, had the opportunity to sit down and talk with many of them.
US Senator Mike Crapo joined us to discuss his current work in Washington D.C., the second amendment, as well as the death of Justice Antonin Scalia, “There is no way this Senate will confirm another activist Justice.” he opined. “I can assure you that I will stand firm.”
State Senator Russ Fulcher, former candidate for Governor, also joined Bradway for a discussion on his future political plans.
Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler spoke about Veteran John Arnold, the Second Amendment, including Constitutional Carry, and Burns, Oregon.
Donna Capurso, candidate for Boundary County Commissioner talked about her reasons for running for office, which includes standing up for our future generations. The discussion also extends to Federal Lands and government over reach.
John Green, candidate for Kootenai County Sheriff, talked with Bradway about the difference between militias and his support of organized militia groups. He also discusses his views on the Second Amendment, as well as the Federal government having no police powers within the state.
Don Bradway is a Kootenai County Precinct Committeeman, and keeps his thumb on the pulse of what is happening in Idaho. Additionally, Bradway is Chairman of the Kootenai County Lincoln Day dinner, coming up on April 2, 2016.
