Zeischegg To Challenge Sudick for Commissioner Seat
(Editor’s Note – Victoria Zeischegg elected not to compete in 2016)
SANDPOINT — Victoria Zeischegg, local business owner, and three year president of the Bonner County Republican Women, Inc. has announced she will challenge incumbent Todd Sudick for the District 2 seat on the Bonner County Board of Commissioners.
“It’s an opportunity to serve the public in a larger capacity,” said Zeischegg, who has served as Bonner County Republican State Committeewoman for going on two years, in addition to serving on numerous local advisory committees and non-profit organizations.
Zeischegg sees the commissioner position as an opportunity to work as a team with county employees to bring the best and most efficient service to the citizens of Bonner County. “My approach to governance is bottom up, and my business experience is all about customer service and good management practices.”
“As Commissioner, I will work to protect our sovereignty as a county, our property rights and our personal safety rights. All with “CPR” for our county: Civility, Professionalism, and Respectability,” said Zeischegg. “It is important to me to develop the right kind of environment to attract businesses that will create jobs which are in keeping with the culture of our county.”
In addition, Zeischegg says she will work to bring more transparency to county government by strictly adhering to the Open Meeting Laws, making Public Notices available to the whole county, and by holding “Coffee with the Commissioner” events around the county. “District 2 has many diverse communities, and several areas do not have access to delivery of the Bonner County Daily Bee that is currently used to post most public notices.”
Zeischegg’s business and volunteer experience include setting budgets, bookkeeping, strategic planning, and managing personnel. She has a BA Degree in Sociology, with an emphasis in Criminology, and has worked in the electronics industry, earning a high level Top Secret security clearance. Employed by TRW in the accounting department, she worked on the project budgeting team. After staying home with her children for their early years she entered the work force doing bookkeeping for a mid-size legal firm, and then moved on to work with her husband, Dr. Peter Zeischegg, as the Clinic Manager, and in the development of their health services website, www.drz.org .
